Pacis Amani Medical, per its product page (Web Archive, March 2025): inpatient cover with optional outpatient and maternity; outpatient only with inpatient and for the whole family; dental and optical only with outpatient. Waiting periods: 30 days for acute illness, 90 days for surgery not listed in the benefit schedule, 1 year for maternity. Adults 18 to 64 (maximum joining age 64), medical examination from 55; children over 21 and under 25 covered with proof of full-time schooling. Outside the panel you pay the bill and are reimbursed, subject to pre-authorisation, up to 80% of reasonable and customary rates. Pacis publishes no premium: ask for a quote.
Its "Who we are" page says profits go back to the sponsor and church arms for community projects, and that it works with 25 dioceses and insures over 5,000 schools (Web Archive, March 2025). Pacis's FAQ also distinguishes it from Waumini Insurance Brokers: Pacis is the insurer; Waumini is a broker that places business with many insurers. Check any intermediary in IRA's entities registry.

Before you buy from Pacis in Kenya
- Check that the policy is issued by one of the companies above — the licensed entity, not only the brand.
- For motor cover, dial *352# or use verify.dmvic.com to check a motor certificate.
- Ask for the schedule and the exclusions in writing, and compare them with at least one other insurer.
- Keep in mind the claim rule that applies to every insurer: the insurer must settle within 90 days of the claim being reported once all documents are provided, or pay a 5% penalty (Insurance Act s.203).
- If something goes wrong, complain to the insurer, then to the Insurance Regulatory Authority (complaints@ira.go.ke, toll-free 0800 724 499).
