SHA portal login

How to sign in to Afya Yangu and what you can do there

Short answerChecked 31 October 2026
To log in to SHA, open the Member Portal at afyayangu.go.ke (the Login menu of sha.go.ke links to it), enter your ID number and the PIN you set when you registered, then type the one-time PIN (OTP) that SHA sends to your registered phone number and email. If you forgot your PIN, use Reset PIN on afyayangu.go.ke. Once inside you can add dependants, do means testing, see your Primary Care Network facility, pay and generate your statement. There is no SHA mobile app yet, and without internet you can use *147# on any phone. Tulinde is not SHA: this page explains the official portal and links to it.

Which SHA portal is yours

The Login menu on sha.go.ke lists separate portals. Use the one that matches who you are:

You arePortal (from the sha.go.ke Login menu)What it is for
A member or dependantMember Portal — afyayangu.go.keYour profile, dependants, means testing, facility, payments, statement
Anyone checking a person's coverEligibility Check — eligibility.sha.go.keCoverage status by ID or CR number, no login: see how to check your SHA status
An employerEmployer Portal — employers.sha.go.keUpload staff contributions and generate the e-slip
A hospital or clinicE-contracting Portal and Provider PortalContracts and claims of healthcare facilities, not for members

Type the address yourself or open it from sha.go.ke. Do not log in through a link sent by SMS or WhatsApp, and never give your PIN or one-time code to anyone who calls you.

SHA login in four steps

You need to be registered first: if you have never registered, start with SHA registration (*147#, the Register button on sha.go.ke or assisted registration). Then, as SHA's registration FAQ describes:

  1. Open the Member Portal: afyayangu.go.ke, or Login → Member Portal on sha.go.ke (member portal).
  2. Click Login and enter your ID number and your PIN — the PIN you chose when you registered.
  3. Enter the one-time PIN (OTP) that SHA sends to your registered mobile number and email.
  4. Your account portal opens. Go to My Profile for your details, dependants, means testing and facility.

Forgot your PIN? SHA's answer is to use Reset PIN on afyayangu.go.ke (SHA FAQ). The code is sent to the phone number and email on your record, so keep them up to date.

No smartphone or internet? You do not need the portal: SHA says any phone that dials USSD codes can use *147# to register and pay, and you can register with help at an SHA office, a Huduma Centre or through a community health promoter (SHA FAQ).
